July 22nd Featured Keynote

Dr. Peter Noonan from Solution Tree will be the featured keynote apeaker on the first day of the 2014 Round Rock ISD World Class Summit. He will be sharing thoughts from his time at the Superintendent of Fairfax City schools in Virginia and building Professional Learning Communities throughout a large district. He will also be working with individual VLTs on July 23rd.

Join Round Rock ISD Professional Development this Summer

The World Class Summit is just the beginning of the Round Rock ISD Professional Development Summer Learning schedule. The Summer PD Conference will feature 350 sessions covering everything from Minecraft EDU to numberless word problems to team-building. Make plans to join us Aug. 12th for the New Teacher Orientation kick-off featuring Marc Prensky at the performing arts center. Then we ramp up the enthusiasm even more with Convocation, Aug. 19th at Dell Diamond.

Welcome to the World Class Summit July 22nd-24th

The 2014-2015 school year starts with the World Class Summit on July 22nd-24th at Stony Point High School. Three days of connecting, learning, and collaborating with leaders from each department and campus on the principles that will take Round Rock ISD from first class to world class. Much of the planning is still underway and will be shared on this blog throughout the summer.

The highlights so far:

July 22nd
  • Full day of celebration, learning, and planning for leaders from each department in the organization. 
    • We will be focusing on Professional Learning Communities development and assessment with Dr. Peter Noonan from Solution Tree.
    • There will be whole group sessions as well as break-outs.
    • Culminating with State of the District from Dr. Steve Flores
  • Lunch and other refreshments will be provided throughout the day
July 23rd and 24th
  • Two days of leadership training focused on the needs of campus leaders.
    • Updates from each department will be delivered each day
    • July 23rd will feature the 1/2-day Principal Technology Academy. What do you want to learn? 
    • There will also be optional training from Plan4Learning, Istation, and Eduphoria.
    • Everyone is invited, but attendance on July 23rd and 24th is optional for non-campus-based leaders.
