Our ace Instructional Technology Specialists (ITS) +Brian Wolfe +Anne Mattingly +Nicole Ortega +Doriane Marvel are joining us to lead training focused on productivity and in their honor we will be giving away all the Google prizes.

Think about joining us for lunch at 11:30 in the cafeteria. There will be an extended 90-min lunch break on July 24th if you would like to venture to any of the nearby lunch spots as well.

Then make sure you are in the cafeteria at 4:00 for the closing with Dr. Flores.

World Class Summit Only Days Away

First things first, where to park and where to eat. We are feeding everyone on July 22nd. There will be coffee and pastries in the morning, provided lunch, and sodas available throughout the day. On July 23rd and 24th we will have complimentary coffee each morning and boxed sandwich lunches for purchase each day.

Be sure to park on the east or west side of the campus. We are reserving the front for parents registering students. Here is a video shared with everyone for the Summer PD Conference and while the dates and some descriptions are a bit off, this will help any new World Class Summit attendees find their way around the parking lots and the Stony Point campus.

With the essentials out of the way, a few additional logistical updates. Each Vertical Leadership Team will have a session on either July 22nd or 23rd to continue working the work started during the initial VLT meeting at RRHS on June 12th and will be facilitated by the high school principals. If you were not part of that initial VLT meeting, please choose the team that makes most sense to your position. If you have any questions, please ask you supervisor. Join this Google+ Community for access to the documents needed for this session. Those documents are also linked in the blog from the top tool bar under Vertical Leadership Teams. Seek help if you need it.

Dr. Peter Noonan has asked that we share this article for some optional pre-reading before Tuesday. It's linked here: http://goo.gl/D3G615 and embedded on the sidebar.

Leaders are readers We will be giving away numerous books and items throughout the Summit through multiple pathways. Here is a hint: if you want better odds follow @rrisdpd on Twitter and/or use #rrisdpd during the World Class Summit to stay current. Posting in the Google+ Community might help out too. Here are just a few of the titles we will be giving away:

The World Class Summit is a three-day conference. Sure, make sure you hit the sessions. But also make sure you make the connections with other RRISD leaders that will help you make 2014-2015 the best year it can be. We have rooms C224-C216 dedicated to meeting/work/interview space. If you need anything else, do not hesitate to check in at the information table in the mall area and we will make it happen.

World Class Summit 2014 - Sign-up for your sessions now!

Peter Noonan
The inaugural Round Rock ISD World Class Summit will bring together more than 250 leaders from every corner of the organization. Professional Learning Communities will be the recurring theme in all sessions whether we are collaborating on leadership, finance, technology, curriculum, accountability, or anything else.
There will be more than 70 sessions offered July 22nd-24th at Stony Point High School. The planning sessions with your assigned Vertical Leadership Team, Ethical Leadership (Finance), What's New with Accountability, and Legal Update are all required, but beyond that you can set your own schedule. You will see that some classes are 90-min, some 50-min, so if you find some down time between classes, feel free to utilize any of the open classroom work areas to make phone calls, plan with your admin team, get caught up on emails, or connect with other leaders from RRISD.

Peter Noonan from Solution Tree and Fairfax City Schools in Virginia will deliver the featured keynote on July 22nd and have an opportunity to lead a work session individually with each Vertical Leadership Team during the Summit.

Be sure to bring your copy of Leaders of Learning. If you have not already received a copy, we will have one available for you at the information table in the mall area.

Lunch will be sponsored by the Curriculum and Professional Development department on July 22nd in the cafeteria and will feature a specialized menu from new RRISD Executive Chef, Jeff Moll. Lunch will be available for purchase on July 23rd and 24th in the cafeteria.

Make sure to join us for the second annual Director's Showcase on July 22nd at 12:30 p.m. in the Stony Point Mall area. This will be an opportunity for campus leaders and department leaders to connect, share celebrations, and make plans heading into the 2014-2015 school year.

Share your learning and comments throughout the Summit using #rrisdpd on Twitter and sharing in the Round Rock ISD Professional Development G+ Community. Be mindful that these are both public spaces and take advantage of sharing the successes of RRISD with the rest of the world. Be sure to sign up for Corey Ryan's session on July 23rd to learn more about utilizing social media.

We will be utilizing an electronic sign-in process during the event, so please register in eCampus with this number: #3131.27211And then each day a sign-in sheet will be added to this blog for you to sign-in for the CPE credit.
